Abby
Sorry about the long delay, I know we promised frequent updates, but as you can imagine, we are BUSY :-) So first things first: Abby is doing GREAT!! She is growing by the day and the pictures I'm attaching really don't show how big she already is. We haven't weighed her, but you can certainly tell by looking at her that she's getting bigger every day. She has made tons of friends already, there isn't a day when she doesn't meet new people and new doggie companions. She's doing really great with both, and depending on the size of the dogs, those meetings oftentimes result in play sessions. Just a couple of nights ago we met Bella, a 10 months old Aussie / Boarder Collie mix who lives around the corner, and let me tell you, those two hit it off all right! We had to give Abby a bath afterwards, she was completely covered in slobber :-) The two played extremely nice, even though we all felt sorry for Bella at times because there was just no stopping Abby, she was either on top of her or running circles around her new friend, with not even a remote sign of tiring - she is a bundle of energy! So there will be frequent play sessions scheduled for the two. After exercise, walkies and romping around Abby is usually very tired and just a loving fluff ball! Seriously, she is the nicest dog we could think of, and it seems as if she's all right with us, too :-) My parents are currently in town visiting from Germany for almost three weeks, so there is even more love to go around, which Abby seems to be able to handle no problem. Plus she's picking up some German - haha! We are all making great progress with the training - she's pretty good with "come" and "sit" already, "leave it" and "let's go" work most of the time, unless of course there are other super interesting things around to distract her, which there never seems to be a shortage of :-) Kim has taken her to the vet last week and everything checked out fine, except for a parasite in her belly that we are treating with super-yummi medication. Abby seems very smart and active, we think we have our work cut out for us and want to be prepared to handle the little firecracker. So we signed up for a training class, just to make sure we're doing everything correct, and both Kim and I are buried in dog books. We found a local trainer, Karen Vaden, who comes highly recommended and also owns Boarder Collies and Aussies. We are meeting with her for the first time in 2 weeks (she's busy!) to show off everything we learned so far. BTW, we are now 100% convinced that there is not only alligator, but also some monkey in her! She hasn't done it yet, but neither one of us would be surprised to see her swing from a tree one of these days :-) That's it for now, thanks again for rescuing Abby and letting us take care of her!
All the very best,
Michael
PS: How are Abby's siblings doing?
Abigail renamed Izzi
Hi, It's good to hear from you, we changed her name to Izzi and she is doing very well. The potty training is going really well, she can walk up and down the steps and she is sleeping trough the night with no messes in her crate. She was a little whiny the first two nights but now she is fine, she is slowly building confidence and she loves to torture the cat. She goes to the vet on the 20th to have a well puppy check up and also get her stool checked because of the worms. All in all she is doing well she weighs 11.5 lbs and is slowly gaining the rest of her weight back, she has brought us so many laughs and joys we are really enjoying having her in our family. We will send pictures as she grows or does something that is funny. Thank you for her, Ryan & Emiley Drake

Allie renamed Easton
Hi,
I am sure this is long overdue, but my boyfriend and I wanted to give you an update on the puppy we adopted from you at a Take My Paw event in Howell. "Allie" was a black shar pei/lab mix and we took her home with right after Thanksgiving in November. Since then, we have renamed her
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being her foster mom and taking such good care of her before she was adopted. We absolutely adore her and love spoiling her with lots of walks, toys, and attention. Attached are a few pictures of her: although they are a little old, you can see how adorable she is!
Take care and keep up the great work you do as a foster mom! :)

Amy renamed Abilgail Joy
Hi...
I got the babies rabies tag in the mail today..... Before I go any further I will tell you that I renamed her. I wanted the name to be something similar to Amy so she wouldn't be confused so I am calling her "Abigail Joy" Joy because she had to have a middle name and she is such a happy little girl and it sort of just came to me like that was what her name was suppose to be.. She is doing great!!! I am so happy that everything is working out here and everyone is almost used to each other... Boy can she howl!!!! She howls like a Beagle! I had to go to a Dental appt. Monday because of some horrible pain that I started to have in a tooth of mine. Never had anything like that so this was a new adventure for me. He sent me to a doctor in endodontics or however you spell it? Anyway I had to have a root canal done and I was scared to death. But this guy was really good. Took him 15 minutes and no pain.... Anyway I had to leave and my little Sweet Buttercup Abbie as I call her... didn't like that and my husband said she sat by the door and howled like a little wolf... I felt bad having to leave her but I was in pain. She is such a good girl.... I think she may have gained a 1/2 pound. I've been trying anyway. She has been going outside really good and is a bed hog. She is such a cling-on that I trimmed her toenails with out any problem at all... I went after the dentist to the fabric store and bought her some really pretty red plaid fleece to make her a nice warm coat and a little hat to keep her adorable little ears warm... When I get that done I will send you a picture. Her clicking is hilarious..... I love it. Do you watch Boston Legal? If you do remember Jerry Espinson the lawyer with the something or other syndrome. They call him hands... I love him and now I have my own little hands girl..... She takes all of everything I own that she can get and puts it in her nest that she has made in a crate that I put a blankie in for her to snuggle in while I am in the shower..She is a riot of fun.... She is beautiful and has even given me kisses on my mouth!!! She only goes poop one time a day which I thought was odd. But then too she gets really cold when she goes out to poop and I wouldn't like it either so that is why I need to get her a coat made..I can't thank you and all the other ladies in your group enough for working with me and talking me into taking this little angel. Also thank everyone for being kind enough to let me continue to go on about my little boy Chester and with all the crying and carrying on that I did I really needed that and I can't do it here because it has gotten old and he doesn't understand anyway.... Well I need to get them all fed... She sure likes the menu so far.... Tonight she is going to get some tripe... really good for her skin fur and overall body health. And that will be served with some boiled chicken and carrots...So I am going to go and I will write again in a couple of days to let you know how she is progressing…
So So Thankful,

Annabelle is by far one of the best behaved puppies I have had the pleasure to be with. My family loves her very much and she is doing very well at my parents. We visit daily just to play...
Thank you very much for having her available, I'm sure God put her in our lives for a reason.

Annie renamed Riley
Greetings,
So we have now had Riley for almost a week and she has been a blast! She is
a great dog; very playful, curious and loves to cuddle. We've started a
routine with being taken out, feeding and being in her crate. She is quick
with learning to sit, lay and play fetch. She is a blessing to our family
and I know she’s happy to be here with us. It’s been interesting so far when
we've taken her around friends/family to hear their guesses on how big she
will get. A lot of people guess by her small paw size that she won't be much
bigger then 50 lbs. By any chance do you know what she’s a mix of, or anyway
we could find out? Also, do you, or the organization have any information
about her parents? I've attached some pictures so you can see how she’s doing
and how adorable she is! Thank you so much for taking care of her and being
apart of such an awesome organization!!!
Sincerely,
Parker, Priscilla and Riley Stinar
