Ivy renamed Holly

Hello, Take My Paw,
Time flies when you have a new puppy in the house!   We wanted to give you an update on Ivy (we renamed her Holly) since we adopted her this past November.   She’s doing really well, we adopted her at 13 weeks and about 18 lbs, and she’s now almost 7 months old and over 40 lbs!   Holly’s a smart pup, she’s learned some basic commands so far and is an attentive listener.   She tilts her head to the side at words she finds particularly interesting, like walk, treat, lunch, dinner,….. J   She’s doing well on the leash, she’s happy to meet new people (and dogs) on our walks.   We’ve attached a couple of pictures of her, one was taken today, and one from Christmas time.
Since Holly was growing so fast, and to get an idea of how large she might get, we had a DNA blood test done on her.   Turns out she’s 25% Lab, 25% Boxer/other, 25% Canaan Dog and 25% Basset Hound (we were surprised by that one!).  One of her parents was the Lab/Boxer mix, and the other was the Canaan Dog/Basset Hound mix.   When we adopted her, Judy mentioned that Holly’s mother was a black Lab mix.  If you happen to talk with the families of Holly’s littermates, please feel free to pass along this information to them.   With Holly, the Lab seems to be dominant in her right now, she likes to “retrieve” shoes and at least a half dozen stuffed animals from the kids’ bedrooms and bring them downstairs every morning!
Thank you so much to Judy for taking such good care of Holly before we adopted her.  She’s been a great addition to our family!
Sincerely,The O’Connell Family
