Take My Paw Intake Protocol for Pets

All dogs above 4 months old must have a rabies shot and heartworm test. Bring proof of rabies and heartworm results to your appointment. Also bring proof of any other shots or tests the dog has had. You may be asked to have other vet care done before the dog will be admitted into the rescue group.

We ask for a small donation for dogs above 4 months old, this goes towards the cost of taking care of the dog.

Please e-mail a picture(s) and write up of the dog to takemypaw@yahoo.com. A volunteer will contact you to make an appointment to evaluate the dog.

Appointments are done on Saturdays and the dog will be evaluated before being accepted into the rescue group.

If there is not a foster home available at the time, the owner can choose to be placed on a waiting list or to foster and show the dog until a spot opens up or the dog is adopted.
Right now we do not have foster homes available for cats. If you are willing to foster and show a cat or kitten that you have they must be altered, up to date with shots and a negative feline leukemia test.
